Davido Speaks On Nicki Minaj and “A Better Time” Album
It’s just a day before the most awaited album “A Better Time” drops and Davido is already earning to himself media attention.
Speaking on the album and how it concerns Nicki Minaj with New York Times, Davido expressed awe at how widely-played his single “Fem” is.
Recall that FEM had become the go-to song for #ENDSARS protesters across the country who were fighting against continued police brutality targeted against youths of the nation.
Davido said a lot how the song is instrumental to the global clamor for “A Better Time”.
When asked about his collaboration with Nicki Minaj, for one of the songs that made the album, Davido told New York Times that he simply texted the female rap star on Instagram on a particular night after getting drunk at a club.
See his words on how the conversation went with Nicki:
“I’m like, ‘Hello, Nicki, I’m a big fan. I got a hit for us.’ She says, ‘Send it.’ I’m like, what? And then I send it. And two days later she sent it back. That’s exactly what happened: no label in between, no mutual friend, nothing like that. It was just plain magic.”
But who would have resisted a collabo with the King of 30 Billion Gang?
Nicki Minaj coming on board was made easy due to his music-strides globally, right?
We can imagine.
