Over the past few years, the Nigerian Singer, Joeboy, has been playing his cards well in regards to the above statement.

The singer whose biological name is Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa Donus was discovered by EmpawaAfrica in 2017 owned by Mr. Eazi.
Signing into this record label was the beginning of the journey for Joeboy’s music career.

In an MTV Base series “Behind the Story” anchored by Sammy Walsh, Joeboy revealed that his elder brother’s relationship with 9ice and ID Cabasa lit up his interest in music. The “Baby” Crooner added that he met Mr. Eazi in 2017 through a friend in Europe who sent his song to Eazi via Instagram. And this singular act turned his life around!

This simply shows the importance of having the right people in your circle.
It shows beyond just the ‘fun part’ friends are there to either make or break you.
And Joeboy was definitely blessed to have the good one in his clique.

On his musical career, Joeboy has released hit songs starting from Mr. Eazi’s assisted track “Fààji” which came on air on October 26, 2018.

Afterwards, on March 1, 2019, Joeboy was able to shoot a video for the hit single “Baby” using the Empawa100 grant.

This gained massive reception with over 20 Million streams across YouTube and Spotify.

The music video for “Baby” surpassed 31 million views on YouTube! This was one hell of an achievement the singer probably couldn’t have imagined.

In crafting even more hit songs, Joeboy released the Killertunes produced track “Beginning” on August 2019. The music video was classic, making fans ‘love up’. Those who had bad impressions about love began to have a rethink.
The video for begining surpassed 23 million views on YouTube.

Tirelessly, the young Superstar went further to release his Extended Play (EP) Love & Light in November, 2019 by Empawa Africa. Among others, the EP contains a song featuring Mayorkun – “Don’t Call Me” and “All For You”.

On April 10, 2020, Joeboy released the Dera produced track titled “Call” which is described as a ‘catchy love song.’ And this is the lead single from his upcoming debut studio album. The T. G Omori directed video for “Call” features Sci-fi themes.

In regards to winning awards, Joeboy has won ‘Best Artist in African Pop’ at the 2019 ‘All Africa Music Awards’ and ‘Best Pop’ at the ‘2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival’.
Also, he was nominated multiple times for City People Entertainment Awards and The Headies, respectively.

On relationship, Joeboy revealed that he is a private person and he is currently in a relationship with many people.
However, the Singer identified Rema, Oxlade, Fireboy as motivations rather than competitors.

Joeboy, an Afropop and R&B Singer certainly has a lovely personality, and we look forward to seeing him scale more heights, beyond all odds.
