Remember, we earlier reported here at Afrobeats 360 on how Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo better known as D’banj got accused of rape. Since then, he has been silent on the issues, making people speculate whether his silence was him admitting to being guilty.
As at today June 16, 2020, he finally spoke out. Today being exactly a week after his birthday, the Koko Master as he’s fondly called by his fans spoke out via his social media accounts, Twitter, and Instagram.
D’Banj stressed that he had to address the issue for the sake of his wife and everyone out there who believes in him.
He accompanied the release with an image of a legal document, while emphasizing that the allegations were false and that he has handed it over to his legal team and the police respectively, one for the legal and the other for the criminal aspect.
He described the timing of the allegations as unfortunate, especially since it was coming a few weeks before the second anniversary of the tragic passing of his son Daniel, resulting in the reopening of healing wounds.
He concluded by thanking his fans for their continued support and prayers, summing it up with a, “The truth will always prevail” statement.
In the image below is D’banj’s full statement .
Whatever the truth is, we definitely hope it prevails.
