Mr. P to Nigerian Artistes, Don’t Lose Your Uniqueness Trying To Please Nigerians

In a tweet he titled “Fact and Truth” via his verified Twitter account @PeterPsquare, he gave the following advice to artistes and would be Nigerian artistes.

According to Peter Okoye also known as Mr. P, it is suicidal to your career trying to please Nigerians because you think what the majority want is a certain type of music.

He literally advised that as a Nigerian artiste, you should bother too much on what you think Nigerians want but rather just be yourself and try gaining recognition doing you instead of what joining the throng of artistes doing music for parties and the club alone.

In his words:

“If you carry Nija fans for mind when making music, my brother you go loss and nobody go remember you again”.

The tweet which he referred to as an advice he had already given to his Artiste “SINGHA” was basically about being yourself as an artiste and not losing your originality at the cost of pleasing the crowd as it might be costly. These words emphasize the point:

“They will even begin to compare you with a new kid who just gained recognition. When they hear a new track, they will forget your Song”.

In a nutshell, Mr P. is advising the Nigerian artiste to avoid being regular but rather be unique. According to him Nigeria has gotten to a stage where it’s people can appreciate good music as opposed to the noisy party music. He summed up with this:

“I believe Nigerians have understood what real music is all about. Be different and unique. Don’t be regular.
