Undoubtedly, if the entertainment industry will not utterly shut down due to the ravaging of the deadly Coronavirus, then, entertainers themselves must join in to battle out of the surge.
Putting his name as the number one artiste to come out head to head with millions against Coronavirus is Douglas Jack Agu known as Runtown, who has announced his intention to donate 10 Million naira to the needy in this time of “stay-at-home”.
Hmmmm, good stuff!
Taking to his twitter page, the “Mad over you” crooner has a moment of “Mad o” from fans and followers as he reveals that he will not stand and watch helpless Nigerians die of hunger while they want to run from the dire hands of Coronavirus.
Saying that times are hard, the artiste noted that he is sure that so many people do not have to stock up their house with all the need to survive this period, hence would not fail to do something with 10M.
Consequently, he requested his fans to drop their account number in the comment section of his post and at the time of this report, the anouncement-post is flooded with comments carrying different account number possibly.
This is so sweet of him because we would be wrong if we say that this period of less economic activities will not take sources of revenue from a lot of people, as a matter of fact, some people have been rendered helpless.
So his goodwill is timely, if you would agree but the question is, where are other artists in this fight?
Where are the likes of Burna Boy, Davido, Timaya and others who would always want to brag about their wealth and give aways?
Or has the supposed 30 billion in the action audio?
And for others, would it be wrong if they join forces with Runtown to support the efforts of the government in a time like this?
Okay let’s say not for the government, what about their fans, can’t they help to curb the impact of the Virus?
Or with what will they want to giveback to their fans who is always there to uphold their works and name.
