No doubt the song “Dami Duro” is one song that still gives music lovers pure nostalgia whenever it is remembered, talked about, or listened to.
Released on October 30, 2011 as the second single by the talented Nigerian Superstar, David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido. The song was one of the hit singles from his debut Album “Omo baba lowo”, after the release of “Back when” by the then HKN.

The song by Davido, the current DMW record label boss, brought the singer to limelight and also won him a great number of loyal fans world wide. Davido became a sensation immediately after the release of ‘Dami Duro, as the song gave music listeners a different vibes from the usuals at that moment.

Also, the song ushered many o into the Davido brand experience, as a number of music lovers will agree the song brought the heat to the dance floor in its own unique way.
‘Dami Duro’ was produced in a mixed pattern of African and western music flow popularly called “Afropop”. The instrumentals were a good combination of several sounds fused to form a piece of alluring music.

The plot of the song was well developed, although the lyrical structure were not so “great” in terms of CONTENT.

The song started with the singer introducing himself as the beat producer. Thereafter, with confidence and a perceived arrogant way, the singer indicated how rich his father is, how rich he (Davido) is and how there was nothing anybody can do to stop his success in the Music Industry. This can be said to be the beginning of his bragging story encased in his music.

Nevertheless, Davido’s vocals were passionate and quite different from what we’ve ever heard, and this made the song a mega-hit back then. It earned the singer lots of accolades and major awards including the hottest single of the year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2010.

Till date, every time we listen to the song, we love the vibes it brings..
