In a recent development Burna Boy has broken his silence after the aftermath of what transpired at the recently concluded 62nd Grammy Annual Awards. Take note that Burna Boy who’s real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu was nominated in the World Music Album category with his African Giant album alongside, Gece with Altin Gün, What Heat with Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley, Fanm D’ayiti with Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet and eventual winner Angelique Kidjo with her album Celia.
It is no longer news that Benin Republic’s legendary African songstress Angelique Kidjo carted away the award amidst a pour of generous encomiums on Burna Boy and the emerging generation of young African artistes. To the delight of Africa and most Nigerians, she dedicated the award to Burna Boy among many other key persons who worked on her winning album Celia.
Confidently facing the large Grammy audience, she said; You know what? Don’t take my word for it, watch it here:
Meanwhile, after all the talks back and forth over what transpired on the awards especially various social media platforms, Burna has finally added his voice to the discuss. On his widely followed verified twitter account @burnaboy, accompanying his tweet with Angelique’s acceptance speech video, he wrote:
I love you forever @angeliquekidgo and every single person that rooted for me, I don’t take any of it lightly. The world get ready cause we’re all coming. Implying that he’s got a lot in store this 2020
